About SEGWAYS2U Segways2u is a company bringing smiles to all riders! Started by Detroiters Maureen Kearns and Keith Steele, Segways2u came about when Inside Detroit, a nonprofit that Maureen co-founded in 2007, wanted to show metro Detroiters how great the city was and we wanted to do it quickly and in style. With the purchase of 11 Segway® PTs we were off and running. When Maureen left the nonprofit in 2011, Segways2U was born. Segways2U journeyed to Florida in the winter of 2011. We landed in Punta Gorda, FL where we established our winter location for the next few years. We’ll be in Detroit for six months and in Punta Gorda for six months. The Segway is a fun and powerful machine, allowing you to glide effortlessly into town from your boat or RV, through town on a tour, or just around town on a rental.   The Segway Personal Transporter emits zero pollutants and very little noise, is battery operated and is self-balancing. It is designed to operate as a pedestrian device anywhere someone can safely walk. It goes up to 12.5 mph and must be run on relatively smooth surfaces. The Segway is a method of transport that's faster than walking and the same or slower than a bicycle.
